Abstract and semi-abstract works ranging from detailed pen drawings to vibrant mixed media compositions on paper and canvas.
Original artwork.
Sometimes life feels messy, disrupted and a little uncertain. I think creating this piece was, in some way, a subconscious reminder to myself not to overthink things too much. Things change, moments pass, and tomorrow comes.

This whimsical mixed media piece on A2 paper was inspired by both a spontaneous sketch in my sketchbook and a subsequent conversation with a friend about those funny air dancers outside car yards.
Impossible to ignore and designed to demand our attention, I think air dancers are like so many of life's little curiosities. They are wonderfully unexpected and almost impossible not to smile at.

In creating Conditions Within, I wanted to explore the shifting internal weather we experience, from moments of calm, excitement and anticipation to uncertainty, turbulence, burnout and renewal. I've used imagery such as butterflies, clouds, rain, sunshine and burnt trees to represent the contrasting conditions that can exist within us at the same time.

I began Now, Where Was I? about a year ago, starting with pen, oil pastel and acrylic paint and allowing the composition to develop organically. Halfway through, I put the work aside and then returned to it later, adding layers of collage, new motifs and details to bring it to completion.
The title refers to the way our thoughts can wander, jump from one thing to another, become interrupted and circle back again. Interestingly, the composition developed in much the same way, with ideas and visual elements leading to unexpected connections and new directions. Thoughts don't always follow a straight path; they can become muddled, take unexpected turns, or even appear back to front. Rather than following a predetermined plan, I allowed the work to unfold through a process of exploration, distraction and return.

When I was creating Off Centre, I wanted to capture that feeling of things being largely in sync, yet slightly askew. That feeling when life is good and ticking along well, but you know it often doesn't take much for things to shift or feel a little off-kilter before they find their centre again.

I created Highs and Lows as a reflection on the shifting landscape of everyday life, moving between the moments that lift us above the line and those that bring us below it, when everything seems to fall into place and when it doesn't.
The highs can be surprisingly simple, such as moments of optimism, excitement, joy, gratitude and appreciation that can make an ordinary day feel special. The lows can be just as ordinary. Difficult moments, grey days, unexpected changes or frustrations.
For me, Highs and Lows is about recognising the contrast between these experiences, moments of flourishing and moments of feeling a little weighed down, and the shifting space between the two.

When I created In a Roundabout Way, I was reflecting on the experience of reaching a destination through an unexpected and sometimes uncomfortable series of events. By using contrasting sections of colour, pattern, doodled marks and more structured elements, I wanted to capture the varied nature of that journey.
During the journey of creating the artwork, the black-and-white geometric section, together with the colours contained within the circle, evoked for me the familiar old television test pattern. This made me think about moments of interruption, recalibration and searching for a signal. Together, these elements reflected for me how a journey may not always be predictable or straightforward, but can still lead us where we need to go.

Night Mind grew from my fascination with those moments in the wee small hours when the mind becomes restless and finds it hard to switch off.
Using a structured, segmented framework similar to my previous work Inner Infrastructure, I drew black ink borders to hold everything in place, then filled each section with pen doodles, colour, pattern and familiar motifs that map the fragments, associations and recurring thoughts that overlap, interrupt and continue through the night.

A constructed response to traditional landscape painting.
Like one of my earlier artworks titled Spring Breeze Overland, Invented Landscape grew through an intuitive process of playing with bold sections of colour, collage and mark-making.

Bright Interruption is a collage made from fragments of my past works, reassembled through instinct and play. The piece reflects the idea that not all interruptions are unwelcome. Some are moments of brightness that shift the rhythm and open the way for something new. Others take the form of change, which can feel uncertain or a little scary, yet can often bring unexpected growth and renewal.

As it evolved, Inner Infrastructure became a reflection of the personal frameworks I've built to navigate daily life, including routines, compartmentalisation, creative practice, and an appreciation of moments of unexpected lightness and stillness.
Using hand-drawn marks, colour, pattern, geometric and abstract forms, I created a map of complexity held within structure. Each element sits within a larger framework and, ultimately, within the boundaries of the page.

My art is for people who are drawn to line, colour, curiosity and a sense of play, but who also appreciate the deeper stories and emotions that can sit beneath the surface.
Original artwork.
When creating this piece, I was reflecting on how change can bring such a mix of emotions. There can be sadness for what we're leaving behind, uncertainty about what lies ahead, and hope and excitement for what might come next. I was also thinking about how these feelings can exist together in the same space, and how something precious can grow within it.
This work grew from those thoughts.
